"I call myself a creative-maintenance person," says Turnbull, who has been gardening professionally for 22 years, including an early stint at the Seattle Parks Department. WSU Extension Service to offer four classes this spring

The Washington State University Extension Service in Snohomish County offers four classes this spring:

Mushroom farming, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 11, Ed's Apples, 13420 339th Ave SE, Sultan. Learn about the types of edible mushrooms that can be grown in our area and how you can start your own fungi farm. Cost is $60 per person and includes a box lunch. Registration is required and space is limited. Everything about Shoreline Gardening

There will be a free Sound Gardening workshop for beach and bluff property owners on Camano Island on Saturday, April 25th, from 9 am - 1 pm at the Camano Community Center. 

You’ll hear about Bluff Basics (Scott Chase, Island County Shore Stewards); Naturescaping for Healthy Backyards (Lois Ruskell, Snohomish Conservation District); Gardening for Wildlife (Val Schroeder, Backyard Wildlife Habitat); and Vegetable Gardening for Shoreline Locations (Jack Peary, WSU Beach Watchers).

This workshop will be followed by an optional tour of a nearby garden.
